The Volunteer Administrators’ Network (VAN) annually recognizes an individual for outstanding contributions to the profession of volunteer administration and the promotion of volunteerism. The Mary Merrill Award of Excellence is designed to acknowledge the contributions of one volunteer administrator who excels in the profession. Any individual who manages volunteers in a public, corporate or non-profit organization is eligible and can be nominated for the Mary Merrill Award of Excellence. Self-nominations are also permitted.
The Mary Merrill Award of Excellence recipient will receive a $100 VAN gift certificate towards continuing education, a one-year membership to VAN, registration to VAN’s annual fall conference and an invitation to be a part of the judging panel the following year.
In addition to the Mary Merrill Award of Excellence, VAN is proud to have a second award that is designed to recognize for-profit organizations of any size that promote, recognize and are committed to employee volunteerism. The Corporate Volunteer Champion Award is presented to an organization that has positively impacted its community through the contributions, time and talent of its employees and associates.
A judging panel will review nominations and the recipients of both awards. Each recipient will be honored at the VAN annual meeting in January 2011, with a complimentary table for the recipients and guests.
Your nominations will help us recognize a volunteer manager and an organization that exemplify professional excellence and commitment to the community. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the VAN website, completed, and returned electronically by clicking the submit button within the PDF, or completed, printed, and mailed to: VAN PO Box 16353 Columbus OH 43216-6353. All nominations must be postmarked by
November 15, 2010 to be considered for these awards. If you have questions, please email .
