HandsOn Connect: An Innovative Volunteer
Recruitment Tool

HandsOn Central Ohio will present HandsOn Connect, an
innovative volunteer recruitment tool that is free and available to nonprofit
and community based organizations.
HandsOn Connect is an innovative website that contains a database of
volunteer opportunities from over 600 nonprofits in central Ohio.
The site acts as a central clearinghouse
where volunteers can go to explore the many organizations in central Ohio to
volunteer.
This session will equip
participants to use the site to recruit, manage, and run reports on new
volunteers.
Presenter Bio
:
Rebeccah Verhoff has been a Volunteer Manager for nearly
five years.
She began her professional
career as the AmeriCorps Program Coordinator at the YWCA Family Center where
she oversaw 26 AmeriCorps members and managed a school age and teen afterschool
program, racial justice program, and volunteer program.
In 2010, she joined HandsOn Central Ohio as
the Disaster Coordinator where she trained and managed 800 Citizen Corps
volunteers who are ready to assist first responders if disaster should strike
in Franklin County.
Currently, Rebeccah
serves as the Director of Community Engagement at HandsOn Central Ohio, where
she oversees the management and development of the Flexible Project Calendar
Volunteer Program, strategic partnerships, and National Days of Service
projects.
Rebeccah obtained a bachelors degree in Women’s Studies and
Sociology from The Ohio State University.
She recently earned a Nonprofit Leadership Certification and is pursuing
graduate studies in Public Policy and Management at The John Glenn School of
Public Affairs at The Ohio State University.
She serves on the board of the Volunteer Administrator’s Network as the
Professional Development Co-Chair and is an active volunteer in the central
Ohio community.
