Grant Writing to Support Volunteer Programs

How often do you hear, "Sorry, there's no money in the budget for that!"? That is if there's even a volunteer program budget at all! Obtaining grants can be a wonderful solution to the problem. After listening to Hal Merz's presentation, participants will be able to identify types of grant funders that will provide funds for volunteer programs and identify methods for highlighting volunteer activity to increase the success of grant proposals.
Presenter Bio: Funding consultant Hal Merz has a $22 million track record in grant funding from more than 50 funding sources. Hal was co-founder and director of the Grants Office at Columbus State Community College. He conducts grant writing workshops for the United Way of Central Ohio, and has been a grant reviewer for several federal and state grant programs. Hal holds a CFE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) credential and has an M.B.A. degree. As the Founder and President of Paraclete Funding Resources, LLC, Hal provides research, grant writing, grant review, training, and strategic planning services to nonprofit organizations serving populations in Columbus, Appalachian Ohio and the nations of Haiti and Benin (Africa).
