Presenter: Julie Ann Spain

Julie Ann will be changing hats from her website presentation in March to lead this presentation on Staff Buy-In for Working With Volunteers. Working for COSI, Julie Ann has had the opportunity to coordinate volunteers for several different teams. Working with these teams to integrate staff and volunteers to build a strong workforce has allowed her to experience a variety of challenges in this area and also to see the enormous positive impact staff support can have on volunteer programs. This session will discuss the importance of obtaining this support and steps that volunteer administrators can take to develop a team that is fully invested in the success of their organization’s volunteer program. There will be some networking time at the end of this session for members to discuss any challenges or success stories that they have in this area and share expertise with each other. Please come with thinking caps on and ready to share!

Presenter Bio:  Julie Ann Spain is currently the Team Leader for Programs Volunteers at COSI. She has been with COSI since 2006 and has been in her current position since 2008.  Julie Ann graduated from The Ohio State University where she started a student organization which is currently still thriving and raising thousands of dollars each year to help fund education needs in developing nations. Currently, she serves on our VAN Board as the Web Coordinator and volunteers with CASA of Franklin County as a Guardian ad Litem.
